The female spider crab is the most desired crustacean of the Galician estuaries.

The Galician Crab from the estuary is famous all over the world for its flavor and texture, since the females have the so-called ''Corals'' that influence this seafood to have a unique and different flavor. Apart from its taste qualities, the Galician spider crab differs from the imported species by its dark and reddish coloration when alive, while the foreign spider crab shows a whitish tone and a less intense flavor. Spider crab offers three different flavors: in the body, in the legs and in the broth.

It goes perfectly with any white wine from the Denominations of Origin of Galicia. As of November no fishing is allowed.
